Who we are
A dock run by
people who drive.
CHI Cross Dock is operated by MMK Transport Inc. — a trucking company. That's the whole reason this service exists, and it's why the phone gets answered at two in the morning.
AB 01 The short version
We spent long enough on the other side of this problem to know exactly how it feels.
A load shifts somewhere on I-80. The receiver won't touch it. Your driver is out of hours, the broker wants an update, and every cross-dock you call either doesn't answer or won't take a single pallet of rework. Meanwhile the clock is running on detention, on the appointment, and on the driver's week.
CHI Cross Dock exists to be the number that picks up. We're a working dock in Plainfield with the equipment and the floor space to take freight off a truck, fix what's wrong with it, and put it back on something that moves — at whatever hour it happens.
What makes this different
- We're carriers ourselves. MMK Transport runs trucks. We know what detention costs and we don't waste your driver's day.
- Small jobs are welcome. One pallet is a real job here, not a nuisance. Plenty of places won't take it.
- A person answers. Not a queue, not a form, not a callback window. Someone who can look at your photos and make a call.
- Everything is photographed. You see what arrived and what left. So does your customer, and so does the claims adjuster if it comes to that.
